How to Make Any Shirt a Woman's Fit by kuramachan How to Make Any Shirt a Woman's Fit by kuramachan
Edited a shirt and thought "Hey! Why not make a more in depth tutorial about this process?" So, yea, here you go!

Originally learned the basics from :iconlauradoodles:'s tutorial here but it didn't really go into the details, so I thought I'd do it.

The swirls in the background are from :iconpixelchemist: and can be downloaded here

Please follow me on Facebook at Rising Moon Cosplay where I post projects, props, and cosplay related works.

If you liked it, let me know! I might make more of these tutorial things if this turns out to be popular enough.

This is a really great tutorial! :D I do a lot of clothing modification myself (usually it's adjusting the fit of shirts to make them a little tighter, since I refuse to wear loose-fitting or baggy clothes). This will come in handy for the t-shirts my college hands out at events; even the smallest size is like a tunic on me.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.

You have saved me from ever having to get rid of a shirt that's too big for me. I think I love you.

Although this is a great tutorial, I can't wear girl sizes even though I'm a girl. My body proportions are off and I feel uncomfortable wearing shirts that show my form. I wish there was a tutorial for the other way around....

this tutorial involved taking away fabric for a more form fitting fit, look up tutorials for adding fabric, like paneling or whatnot.

Great tutorial! I especially appreciated the step-by-step pictures of pinning the sleeves; steps like that normally confuse me, but your pictures made it clear. Thanks for the post!

Being a bigger woman, I don't see the need to alter my clothes half the time (maybe the sleeves?) But I do see how this would work for smaller girls who prefer the mens section over the womans section.

Thaaank you soooo much! i am quite curvey and in order for any shirt to fit around my chest, it has to be really big around the waist...

I completely understand the curvy problem. I always want to by size small in girl shirts cause it's the only thing that fits my waist, but my hips and chest are medium or large! It's so annoying >_<

Simple question: Why? ;)
Reply
:iconkuramachan:
kuramachan Featured By Owner Oct 2, 2013
Because guys get all the cool shirts. Girls get Hello Kitty or other stupid shit like that, which is fine for like 1 or 2 shirts in the wardrobe, but if I want an Iron Man shirt or Assassin's Creed shirt, "only male sizes" XP

And what's the matter to wear male sizes? They look you on you, too :)

:iconkuramachan:

But they're not comfortable. Men's sizes are baggy and have no shape. I have worked HARD to be the shape I'm at, and enjoy wearing shirts that show that work. Just like how guys wear tank tops, it's the same feeling of comfort.

Simple answer: because most t-shirts aren't manufactured to fit our proportions ;)

yeah but if a girl wants to show off her tits, but still wear a cool,  i dunno, Iron man shirt, but its only sizes are  for men, she can now wear a super cool shirt but still show off at the same time, but if she just wanted a cool shirt that was made for men, she can wear it baggy as well :)

It can be done via hand sewing, it's just a LOT more time consuming and you'll need to make your stitches super tight and small.

No, I'm just taking a picture in the mirror. I can't really do good selfies since my arms aren't really long enough, so it's just the reflection that's backwards XD I probably should have flipped the image.

Thankyou so much for creating this! I buy a lot of great shirts online that don't offer a womens fit, and it's so frustrating knowing that they look like a potato sack on me. I'll be using this more than once I bet ;)
